Welcome message from the Rector
St. Joseph Seminary has been a place of discernment for over 90 years. In that time, it is has offered men a chance to grow in their faith and love of the Lord. There is no better gift than that of growing in friendship with Him who has created and redeemed us. And so that tradition continues.
Since the time of Jesus Christ Himself, men have been called to go and “make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I [Jesus] have commanded you.” (Mat. 28:18-19)
When the Lord said these words, he added, “and remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Mat. 28:20)
Those that come to discern with us are called to reflect on these words. To trust that the great commission reflects God’s trust in His people. He desires that everyone know they are loved and that they are children of God. That this message should go forth, he calls his chosen ones to accept the trust He places in them as they are called to trust in Him. What a lovely exchange.
If you sense the Lord is calling you forth, do not hesitate to discern with us. Speak to your local Vocations Director and be not afraid to enter into this great adventure. The Lord has revealed the depth of His Father’s love for us through the sacrifice of His cross. Come reflect with us on this love and how He may be calling you to be His witness to all with whom you come in contact.
May the patron of our seminary, St. Joseph, pray for you as you discern the Lord’s will in your life.
