Rev. Fr. Murray Kuemper

Biography

Fr. Murray Kuemper was born and raised in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. In 1992 he completed a degree in Pharmacy at the University of Saskatchewan (Saskatoon). That fall he entered St. Pius X Seminary (Saskatoon), completing a B.A. in 1993, and then entered St. Peter’s Seminary in London, Ontario. Ordained in Saskatoon on June 19, 1998, he served as Associate Pastor of St. Paul’s Cathedral and Chaplain at Saskatoon City Hospital. In November 1998 he was named Pastor of St. Gabriel the Archangel (Biggar) and Our Lady of Fatima (Landis). From 2000 to 2006 he was Pastor of St. Augustine (Humboldt). In 2006 Fr. Kuemper received permission to join the Madonna House Apostolate in Combermere, Ontario, making First Promises in 2008 and Final Promises in 2015. He studied at the Angelicum University in Rome from 2013 to 2015 for a Licentiate in moral theology. From 2015 to 2020 he served at St. Peter’s Seminary (London, ON) as lecturer in moral theology and as Seminary Spiritual Director. Returning to Madonna House, he served on the community’s formation team before coming to St. Joseph Seminary in 2022.
