Rev. Mr. Santiago Torres originates from Colombia and is a Seminarian studying for the Diocese of Calgary since 2015. After two years of study at Mount Royal Seminary, he came to St. Joseph Seminary in 2017.
Ordination to the Ministerial Priesthood will take place on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Calgary.

We are pleased to announce that three men – Jake Mullin, Christopher Pugh and Joseph Yuson – have been called to the Diaconate. They are from the Archdioceses of Edmonton, Winnipeg, and the Diocese of Victoria respectively, and will be ordained as Transitional Deacons this spring and summer.
The transitional diaconate is the last phase of formation for a seminarian. As an ordained deacon, he can baptize, witness marriages, preside at funeral services outside of Mass, and preach the homily at Mass.
Jake Mullin is from Spruce Grove, AB and has been studying for the Archdiocese of Edmonton since 2016.
Jake will celebrate his Diaconal Ordination on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 7 p.m.MDT at St. Joseph Basilica, in Edmonton.
Christopher Pugh is from Brandon, MB and has been studying for the Archdiocese of Winnipeg, since 2018.
Christopher will celebrate his Diaconal Ordination on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. CDT at St. Augustine of Canterbury Parish, in Brandon, MB. Live-stream information at www.staug.ca
Joseph Yuson originates from the Philippines and has been studying for the Diocese of Victoria, since 2017.
Joseph will celebrate his Diaconal Ordination on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. PDT at St. Andrews Cathedral in Victoria, BC.
