Two seminarians to be ordained to transitional diaconate

We are pleased to announce that two men who are studying for the diocesan priesthood at St. Joseph Seminary will be ordained as transitional deacons this spring.

The transitional diaconate is the last phase of formation for a seminarian. As an ordained deacon, he can baptize, witness marriages, preside at funeral services outside of Mass, and preach the homily at Mass.

Tai Le, 27, was born in Vietnam and accepted as a Seminarian for the Diocese of Prince Albert in October 2015. Tai has spent the last year on a pastoral internship at St. Theresa Parish, National Shrine of the Little Flower in Wakaw, SK.

Tai will celebrate his Diaconal Ordination on the feast of St. Marie of the Incarnation, April 30th, 2021, at 7 p.m.

Chad Miciak, 39 is from Camrose and has been studying for The Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton.

Chad came to study at St. Joseph Seminary in September 2015.

Chad completed his Internship last year at St. Theresa’s Parish in Edmonton.

He will celebrate his Diaconal Ordination on May 17, 2021.
